Fostoria Rail Preservation Society (FRPS)

Fostoria Iron Triangle Railpark is a 5-acre tract directly inside the three double-track mainline freight rail lines that meander through Fostoria. Open 24/7, this park provides a 360-degree viewing platform that allows one to experience the sights and sounds of the 80-plus trains that pass through Fostoria daily. The City of Fostoria built this railpark with the ribbon-cutting on November 15, 2013. Fostoria is one of 16 Iron Triangles in the United States. Our Iron Triangle is quite complex with all three double track mainline diamonds within a half-mile area. The three diamonds are usually called by their former railroad names–B&O/C&O diamond, NKP/B&O diamond and NKP/C&O.

Virtual Railfan and Railstream provide 24/7 cameras on the Iron Triangle for your viewing at home. Some of the Fostoria cameras are free.

Historic places of interest include: B&O Depot, 500 S. Main St.: on the south side of Ex-B&O Tracks; LE&W Depot , 128 W. North St.; and former F-Tower., beside the B&O/C&O diamond. CSX utilizes the B&O Depot for their MOW (Maintenance of Way offices–B&O and C&O).   Former F-Tower is used by CSX for the Signal Crew office.   Both of these locations are off limits to everyone as this is CSX property. The LE&W Depot is owned by FRPS.
