Welcome new member, Ghoul Runnings Kayak Adventures!

Owned by Beth Turner, a Fremont native with a deep passion for the outdoors and community engagement, Ghoul Runnings offers a fun and adventurous way to explore the scenic Sandusky River and the beautiful Fremont Reservoir.

Beth's love for water activities runs deep. Her family owned and operated the Portage Trail Canoe Livery and Broken Paddle Campgrounds for 25 years, fostering her appreciation for nature and the joy of paddling. After years of neglect, Beth saw an opportunity to revitalize the abandoned A-Frame building across from the Fremont Reservoir, drawing inspiration from her family's legacy. With the city's support, Ghoul Runnings Kayak Adventures was born in 2021.

Ghoul Runnings isn't just about kayaks; it's about creating unforgettable experiences. Beth's extensive experience in event management shines through in the variety of offerings available. Whether you're looking for a relaxing sunset paddle on the reservoir, a guided river trip adventure, or a team-building event with a bonfire and s'mores, Ghoul Runnings has something for everyone.

The name "Ghoul Runnings" might raise an eyebrow, but it has a playful origin story. It started as a reward for the dedicated volunteers who helped build Beth's previous venture, the Haunted Hydro Dark Attraction Park. Combining that fun tradition with Beth's love for the movie "Cool Runnings," the name "Ghoul Runnings Kayak Adventures" was born, with its signature "hippie/Jamaican branding vibe."

Ghoul Runnings has over 100 watercraft: kayaks of all kinds (sit-in, sit-on-top, fishing, tandem), 17 Kokopelli single rubber adventure rafts, and paddle boats. You can enjoy the reservoir by renting kayaks by the hour or taking a river trip for 2+ hours with shuttles included. Book them for your next event or party!

Ghoul Runnings is a fun-filled business because of their fantastic crew. Beth's husband is the captain, lead guide, and American Canoe Association (ACA) certified Instructor. This season, the rest of the crew includes a pilot, two certified Red Cross lifeguards, an EMT, a teacher, a former police detective, a Walmart employee, a high school grad, and an intern from Kent State University. Beth is proud of her team and their willingness to help when needed; their motto is "There are NO problems, only SOLUTIONS."

Ghoul Runnings Kayak Adventures is located at 1773 S. River Rd in Fremont. They are open Memorial weekend through mid-September on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (weather permitting). Weekdays are available for pre-booked groups. Visit their website, ghoulrunnings.com, or contact them at 419-455-4364 or ghoulrunnings2021@gmail.com for more information.
