Leadership Seneca County (LSC) celebrated the 2024 class at their graduation on May 8th. There were 19 graduates in this class. Leadership Seneca County is a learning experience designed to help develop community awareness, improve decision making and team building. The program activities focus on goal setting, conflict resolution, accountability, communication and more!  Classes meet on the second Wednesday of each month from September to May.  

Leadership Seneca County completed their 2024 class project by rallying the community to raise funds for Sisters in Shelter and support their Event "Decade of Freedom". The 2024 Leadership Seneca County class presented the check to Jennifer Kin, Director of the Sisters in Shelter at their graduation.

 

The class exceeded their goal of $12,000 and sold 860 raffle tickets for three main prizes.

 Prize #1: 1/4 of 100% Certified Angus Beef with processing provided by Daniel Farms, won by Lenny Clouse,

Prize #2: a whole Hog and processing fee donated by Christina Schmitz, won by Joann Henry,

Prize #3: an 8-hour reservation with the Renaissance Party Bus, donated by Dave Spridgeon, won by Frank Eckert.

Additionally, 26 silent auction items were awarded during the event, along with several generous donations directly to Sisters in Shelter.  Sisters in Shelter, which began in 2005, is a non-profit organization that supports survivors and illuminate the atrocities of human trafficking through community education and advocacy. Sisters in Shelter provides critical first needs for women survivors of human trafficking: emergency safe housing, medical care, safety planning, and legal advocacy. Leadership Seneca County began in 1996 and is a locally based program that brings together professionals in all stages of their career to learn skills not only in leadership, but also networking, project management, and teamwork.
